I've been photographing people, mountain vistas, and my personal favorite...the beach, most of my life. I've won local photo contests for portraiture. I've traveled the world in search of the most iconic scenes from the cities of Europe, the mountains and canyons of the western U.S., the Indian Himalayas, the volcanoes of Central America to the beaches of North Carolina. In my youth, I learned photography from my father, himself an award-winning photographer. It would be my honor and pleasure to photograph you or your family.

I think the beach and oceanside provide a unique setting for a family or individual...from the casual atmosphere to the special lighting exposures that the seashore provides. From the early morning sunrise to the "golden hour" at sunset, each offers fantastic options for portraiture. I try to capture a natural, casual setting where a true and intimate photograph can tell a story. Emerald Isle of North Carolina provides some of the best venues for portraiture and, in the fall and winter, I can photograph both sunrise and sunset from the same venue. How cool is that!?!

I've shot most every kind of sporting and concert event since my time as both a high school and collegiate yearbook photographer and editor...on the sidelines of Division 1 football and under the backboard of basketball games. Early in my career, I spent many long hours in the darkroom, but now digital photography offers so many more options for getting the image just perfect. I also offer a children's photo book to learn about the marine and sea life at the oceanside...a great way to introduce the beauty of the shorebirds and majesty of the ocean.
